Ally Craft GENUINE Plate Boats

The question is often asked " are our boats genuine plate boats....???
The meaning of the term 'genuine plate', why our boats are genuine plate boats, and the origin of the debate that has lead to the question being asked by so many of our customers and the general public is outlined below.
In summary the term "Plate Aluminium" refers to the boats built with aluminium sheets that are generally more than 3mm thick. The use of the term has met with controversy over the years from what I can only gather is a lack of consumer knowlege and a lack of information being available.
There are those who claim that the boats built from a production line such as ours, a company who has traditionally only built pressed boats are not real plate boats. The reality is we are building these bigger and stronger boats to meet the demand of todays fishermen as well as families and we are fortunate enough to have the technology and equipment to build them at a faster rate than the "traditional" builders who can spend weeks and months on just one boat.
In summary Ally Craft plate boats are genuine plate boats. Our advantage is that we have the equipment to be able to add the pressings to the bottom sheets for added strength something often the smaller boat builders dont' have access to or the resources to acquire.
With the new 2008 model plate boats now available and featuring a finer entry bow design as well as new cosmetic options the Ally Craft plate boats are really making a name for themselves in the market place. |

With further improved styling, the genuine plate boat now features the Ally Plate 'Extenda' hull that offers increased beam for better performance along with increased stability at rest. The ATRAX Hull Advantage

ATRAX = Ally Craft Tradition & Represents Ally Craft Xcellence. The materials we use are the finest available and allied to our manufacturing process we produce the toughest boats on the market, to an enviable level of finish. Extensive cross bracing further adds to the hulls strength carracteristics to produce the strongest combination possible. This process is deemed preferable to the alternative stretch forming method, which although quicker, requires a softer grade of aluminium and leads to an overall thinner bottom sheet. The traditional Ally Craft hull is designed to assist with controll of the vessel in rough water and will help the boat to track in a straight line as opposed to wandering and trying to take its own course. The end result being a stronger boat with superior handling and a smooth comfortable ride for all to enjoy. |

Ally Craft is now in full production with their new Shadow Series thanks to the recent purchase of a new 'press machine' which can produce a more rounded or 'swaged' effect on the bottom sheet giving the boat extra strength. We have also made them wider, with the 3.95 and 4.10 now having the same size beam as the 4.25m. The beam is now 1.90m, however the rest of the specifications remain the same.

Trailering Your Boat
|
Posted:
4/06/2002 by
Michaela
|
|
Ally Craft Aluminium Boats are easy to tow being so light, yet so strong for their size. Unfortunately some owners forget that even though they are strong and easily handled they still need to be trailered carefully. Always make sure that the stern is tied firmly (not over tight) to the trailer so it cannot 'jump' around. It is also advisable to secure the bow ( in addition to the winch) to prevent movement during transit or sudden stops. Ally Craft boats must be trailered with a defined row of solid keel rollers to ensure the load on the keel is evenly distributed. These keel rollers should extend to the stern end of the keel. Split keel (wobble) rollers MUST NOT BE USED. The vessel should then be balanced (not carried) using skids at the rear of the trailer. |
